Award Description: To expand the scope of ongoing preclinical studies of nicotine vaccines as a therapeutic strategy for treating tobacco addiction, through the introduction of methods to deliver nicotine to rats via inhalation of cigarette smoke. These methods will be used to better characterize the mechanism of action of nicotine immunotherapies and study approaches to enhancing their efficacy.
