Award Description: This supplement falls within the scope of the parent grant as we are proposing to provide new training opportunities to clinical researchers interested in oral health research. Our infrastructure and experience gained with the Gullah population have led us to plan for a Community Based Participatory Research COBRE and with the interest developed on campus, we believe that immersing new investigators intersted in this area of research will result in an enhance workforce capable to conduct CBPR Oral Health Research. The purpose of this supplement is 1)to provide capacity building and training to enhance knowledge and skills needed to conduct CBPR, 2)to use actual clinical research to educate clinical and translational scientists in the creation of partnerships that promotes translational research, and 3)to develop educational mechanisms to disseminate knowledge acquired with clinical research.
