Award Description: Westwood Homes renovation & revitalization to address the Architect and Engineers physical needs assessment and incorporate an energy retrofit for 'Green communities by installing roof-top photo-voltaic panels on all buildings for the replacement of the undersized electrical unit subpanels and distribution system. The work will include new electrical outlets, switches, low wattage fixtures, and hard wired smoke control system. Deteriorating natural gas lines will be abandoned, and gas water heaters and furnaces will be replaced with Energy Star electric water heaters and furnaces. This funding will also provide for the installation of low ‘E’ dual glazed insulated windows and Energy Star electrical appliances (ranges and refrigerators).
