Award Description: Project Title: Davis County Law Enforcement Joint JAG $331,458 Layton City $114,663.25:The Layton Police Department will use $9,899.00 to purchase a Dass digital storage attachment, with an additional 6.4 terabytes of storage capacity. This additional storage unit will allow us to store digital video of police contacts with suspects, as all of our patrol officers are required to audio and video record each contact. This department will use the remainder of the JAG grant purchase and equip three patrol vehicles. Davis County Sheriff?s Office $23,101.15: Spent entire sub-award this reporting quarter purchasing two Harley Davidson Motorcycles; $36,590 was the total expenditure. The costs that exceeded the grant total have been paid for by Davis County. The Motorcycle Officers will be responsible for traffic enforcement and special events, such as motorcades, races, and protests. Clearfield City $47,978.80: The Clearfield Police Department use funding to enhance the department?s current computer aided dispatch and records system with two additional software modules. The two modules purchased were the accident and citation module. Bountiful City $50,111.55: We are funding a vehicle and related vehicle equipment for one officer. Two in-car cameras will be purchased. We will purchase digital recorders for all of our officers. These recorders will allow all officers to record their interviews with suspects, as well as dictating their reports. Centerville City $11,727.75: $10,469.74 has been spent on the purchase of 9 new .223 caliber rifles and accessories at a competitive bid, and locally, promoting economic recovery. Clinton City $13,505.20: These funds were use to purchase proper digital camera equipment, fingerprint supplies and other equipment used in processing crime scenes; and to properly equip a K-9 Officer with a few items needed to help him give proper care of the K-9 animal while on duty in the city. Kaysville City $15,993.25: Funds will be used for the Digital in Car Video Systems, followed by the Mobile Radio, Radar Systems, and Mobile Data Terminals. North Salt Lake City $15,282.65: $15,256 spent on two copiers. The addition of a second copier saves time and money by having a readily accessible copier for patrol officers and detectives to use. We also are realizing a savings on the repair costs of our old copier. The Department has been able to avoid interruption of essential services through use of the copiers to keep records requests and report documentation flowing to needed people. The local purchase also helped promote economic recovery. Syracuse City $15,993.25: $9,710.80 Spent during this reporting quarter to equip officers with patrol rifles and associated equipment and training, thus providing every officer within the department the necessary equipment and training to safely and effectively serve the citizens of our city. West Bountiful City $12,084.00: $7,596.00 spent this reporting quarter to purchase four new laptop computers. Officers are able to stay in the field and work efficiently. The laptops were purchased locally promoting economic recovery. The remainder of the funds will be spent on purchasing two police mountain bikes and associated equipment. We will buy the bikes and equipment locally, promoting economic recovery. Woods Cross City $11,017.15: $1,308.95 spent on Taser and computer accessory. We will purchase a new file server. In addition a computer will be purchased that would allow us to upload, archive and prepare DVD?s from our in-car digital video recorders for long term storage and court purposes. The purchase of this equipment, locally, will also promote economic recovery. The remaining funds will be used to purchase a much needed handheld laser system unit that can be used for traffic enforcement by the patrol division.
