Award Description: Under the CIP Program, we will enhance our effectiveness, efficiency, quality of care, and patient outcomes by (1) Renovating the Dental Annex to add additional operatory space (2) to improve our efficiency and effectiveness of care; (2) Add digital x-ray and electronic dental records to improve the quality of care and improved patient outcomes, and (3) Add Electronic Health Records in Primary Care to improve the quality of care and improved patient outcomes. Additional enhancements and equipment shall be purchased to improve the overall effectiveness of our operations and enhance patient and staff safety. We propose to complete the enhancements over a 24 month period. Sixty percent (60%) of the CIP Proposal is dedicated to building renovation and equipment acquisition, none of which will have a negative impact on existing operational budget/grant support. We will appropriately schedule any renovation to minimize impact on delivery of services. New flooring will be installed on the weekends and after clinic hours to minimize interruption of services. Additionally, replacement of the 35 year old heating units and window air conditioners with energy efficient HVAC units will reduce utility costs in future budgets periods. The remaining forty percent (40%) of the CIP Proposal is dedicated to implementing electronic health records. Southern Trinity Health Services is committed to the ongoing costs associated with E.H.R. implementation. We also understand and will work with the short and long term effects related to provider productivity during this process. The gains made in quality of care and patient outcomes will greatly outweigh lost provider productivity. We will maintain improved access and quality of services through careful attention to patient scheduling and patient flow.
