Award Description: The New York Council of Nonprofit's (NYCON)Strengthening Communities Fund Program provides free training to 80 Program Participants and financial and technical assistance to 40 Project Partners located in New York City. We will partner with the Nonprofit Coordinating Committee of New York, the Support Center for Nonprofit Management, and the Women's Center for Employment and Career Advancement to deliver these services. Our Strategy involves the following: 1) 80 nonprofit organizations (Program Participants) will have access to 3,000 hours free high quality training in all five critical capacity building areas; 2) 40 out of 80 Program Participants receive $600,000 in financial assistance awards to increase their capacity and receive capacity building technical assistance (Project Partners); 3) 40 Project Partners will undergo an organizational assessment and receive recommendations for strengthening their capacity in all five critical capacity building areas; 4) 40 Project Partners will receive 3,160 hours of direct technical assistance in five areas of critical capacity building. 5) 40 Project Partners will participate in a series of Skills Builders training and coaching programs. 6) 80 Program Participants will have access to an online community and resource center for sharing ideas and information.
