Award Description: Native American Housing Block Grant, Formula - New construction, acquisition, rehalibitation including energy efficiency and conservation, and infrastructure development.
Project Description: Overall purpose of the project is to acquire and rehabilitate a 1-4 unit family dwelling for rental to low-income Native family. We were awarded the grant in May 2009. Since the grant was awarded we have completed these preliminary tasks: 1) Sought and identified a property to purchase to where we have a Purchase and Sale Agreement executed; 2) We have developed and adopted the required HUD policies for a Low-Income Rental Housing Program; 3) We have completed the required Environmental Review process. We have conducted these tasks with existing staff. Key tasks yet to be completed include: 1) Purchase property; 2) Complete rehab/mod of unit; 3) Complete tenant selection process; 4) Move families into unit.
