Award Description: The COPS Hiring Recovery Program (CHRP) provides funding directly to law enforcement agencies to hire and/or rehire career law enforcement officers in an effort to create and preserve jobs, and to increase their community policing capacity and crime prevention efforts.

Project Description: We are retaining 27 officers who recently graduated the academy. We will begin charging the grant for these officers October 1, 2009. A new academy class has begun which contains the new hire officers. We will begin charging the grant for this academy class begining with the Pay Period Ending October 3, 2009.
