Award Description: Recovery Act Grants to State Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Coalitions Program: This project will increase and maintain personnel required to provide leadership development, training, technical assistance and education that the Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Violence (WCADV) would not otherwise be able to offer. WCADV anticipates that grant funds will support: training and technical assistance to improve advocacy skills and to promote financial stability for survivors of domestic violence; to support targeted leadership skills development; and to provide domestic violence awareness and education in Wisconsin.

Project Description: WCADV will provide at least 15 full days of training per year throughout the project period (May1, 2009 through April 30, 2011). WCADV will provide technical assistance in person, by phone or by email to at least 500 individuals per year throughout the project period (June 1, 2009 through May 31, 2011). WCADV will produce and distribute the Wisconsin 2008 Domestic Violence Report by October 1, 2009.

Jobs Summary: Director of Economic & Social Justice: evaluates the needs of local programs as they work to assist victims and their children with economic empowerment efforts, provides training and technical assistance to local programs on issues of economic oppression, development and empowerment. Also supervises Technology Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator, Prevention Coordinator, and CCR Coordinator. Graphic Artist (consultant): special expertise needed to assist in designing and publishing Wisconsin DV Homicide Report. Homicide Prevention Project Assistant (consultant): assists in producing report about Wisconsin domestic violence homicides for WCADV and local DV programs to promote public awareness and to educate diverse groups about DV.
