Award Description: The Poudre School District Early Childhood Program was awarded for both COLA and Quality Improvements Grant for Head Start and Early Head Start. PSD has identified the ARRA COLA to assist in providing salary increases to all staff. The PSD Human Resources Department also adjusted salaries for ERSEA and Family and Community Partnershp Specialist Job Families based on market data in Colorado. Quality Improvement funds of $103,390 for Head Start and $58,365 for Early Head Start are included in the award. The Quality improvement funds will be used for increased fringe benefits, such as PERA, Health and Dental Insurance, and training,supplies and equipment for programs.
Project Description: Poudre School District has used ARRA funds to assist in funding staff salary COLA and market increases for two job families, and increased costs for fringe benefits, such as PERA, Health, Dental Insurance.
Jobs Summary: The ARRA has not created any new jobs rather it has supported the Poudre School District Early Childhood Program in sustaining the high quality programs and staffing needed to operate the program and meet the performance standards. Without these funds the program would have needed to decrease classroom support, and comprehensive support structures to children and families, as well as increase case loads for nurses and family mentors.
