Award Description: The Anoka Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy (EECS) includes upgrading the HVAC, water, electrical and lighting systems at the Anoka County Government Center, Mississippi Library, Crooked Lake Library, Columbia Heights Service Center and Rum River Human Service Center. The goal of this energy efficiency and infrastructure improvement is aimed not only at reducing energy consumption and cutting associated utility costs but performance improvement of central heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve occupant comfort, and provide a more reliable infrastructure to these Anoka County facilities. This project will contribute to that objective by providing an annual reduction in energy consumption of 33,232 kiloWatt-hours (kWh) in electric energy and 8,130 therms in natural gas fuel energy. It also directly affects the county's interest in reducing their impact on the climate by reducing their carbon emission equivalent by 64.5 metric tons annually.
