Award Description: Capping of Mine Waste and Waste Rock Piles and Remediation Activities located at the Eureka Mills Superfund Site, Eureka, UT.
Project Description: Activities performed this quarter include mine waste remediation. Work included the grading, compaction, and capping of existing mine waste piles, construction of sedimentation/detention ponds, and the production of topsoil and aggregate materials (i.e rip-rap, roadbase, armor stone) in the borrow and quarry areas. The topsoil and aggregate materials are used for both residential and mine waste remediation. Operation of the 'Open Cell' constructed landfill is also performed under this contract.
