Award Description: AARA Capital Improvement Program: CIP funding will enhance efficiency and improve the qualiry of care and patient outcomes for Los Barrios Unidos Community Clinic (LBUCC) through two project types: 1) Alteration/Repair/Renovation and 2) Certified EHC-related purchases.
Project Description: 3111 Sylvan Avenue Clinic: The Project Team members completed most project planning and development work for the 3111 Sylvan Avenue Clinic remodeling project. Bids were obtained and construction/demolition has started. We have not yet drawn down any funds. 809 Singleton Blvd. Clinic: The Project Team is still in the project planning and development phase of the 809 Singleton Avenue remodeling project. While we have expended some funds for architectural consulting, we have not yet drawn down any funds. The Project Team, along with contractors has also begun work on the substantial repair and replacement of the 34,700 sq. ft. building’s HVAC system. We have expended funds on regular and/or interim repairs, as well as on the rental of portable AC units. We have not yet drawn down any funds. EHR Implementation: We developed an implementation plan for EHR and Patient Management software. Key committee members were identified and researched a number of vendors, ultimately selecting 5 for serious consideration. A vendor evaluation instrument was developed and the committee has seen a number of product demonstrations. Selected committee members conducted two site visits and attended one educational seminar. We have not yet drawn down any funds.
