Award Description: ARRA Cost of Living Adjustment(COLA), and Quality Improvement Funding consistent with the provisions of Section 640(a)(5) of the Head Start Act

Project Description: Quarterly Activities - 1.) Compensation and benefits will be applied in November, 2009. 2.) 1 - Special Education Staff was hired. 3.) Training by our Pediatric Nurse Practitioner was provided to educational and social service staff on H1N1 prevention, healthy practices, the importance of being up to date on well baby checks and immunizations. 4.) Professional development for staff in infant/toddler development will be completed in the second quarter. Project Description - ARRA COLA and Quality Funds will be used to: 1.) Increase compensation and benefits of staff through a cost of living adjustment to improve the overall quality of the program. 2.) Hire on full time Special Education Aide. 3.) Provide professional development to teaching and social service staff in health, mental health and nutrition. 4.) Provide professional development for staff to improve their educational qualifications and knowledge in infant/toddler development.
