Award Description: The City of Tupelo will improve energy efficiency by implementing two projects. First, the City will replace existing halide lights at one of the City's primary sports fields with photometric light technology. The photometric technology will decrease annual energy usage at the sports field by approximately 10,000 kWh. Major deliverables will be the lighting and switches for six light poles with 30 fixtures each, plus a remote control system and alternative manual switches. The second project will involve computer technology. The City will reduce energy usage at City Hall by replacing the City's current server system with a considerably smaller but far more powerful server technology that will reduce power usage by approximately 37,000 kW per year. Major deliverables will be 4 IBM servers and related elements (hard drives, RAM, Ethernet ports, etc.) and server software.
