Award Description: To enhance enforcement efforts at ARRA-funded construction projects including infrastructure, green energy and government buildings.
Project Description: The purpose of this grant is to fund additional enforcement activity at ARRA-funded projects. This includes salaries, fringe benefits, travel, and limited equipment. The expected result is greater focus on worker safety and health at ARRA-funded worksites, for the purpose of reducing or eliminating illnesses, injuries and fatalities. In 4th quarter of FY 09, our agency conducted 0 inspections directly related to ARRA-funded projects. This included 0 inspections for highway construction, 0 inspections for green-energy projects, and 0 inspections for government buildings. A total of violations were cited to date with total initial penalties of $0.00 issued to date. Additionally, per the Federal/DEP 'Manufacturing Industries Related to ARRA Activity list, our agency conducted 71 inspections indirectly related to ARRA-funded projects in 4th quarter of FY 09. A total of 139 violations were cited and $61,100.00 in initial penalties were issued on these indirect activities to date.
