Award Description: ARRA Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) and Quality Improvement Funding consistent with the provisions of Section 640(a)(5) of the Head Start Act.
Project Description: PROJECT DESCRIPTION - ARRA COLA and Quality Funds will be used to increase compensation of all HS and EHS staff by 1.84%, increase salary for teachers with a Bachelor or Associates degree to help with staff rentention, increase numbers of weeks for specific staff, bus maintenance, and professional development for educational staff, teachers, home visitors and family advocates pursuing degrees in Early Childhood Education or Social Work. QUARTERLY ACTIVITIES - 1.84% in COLA increases, as designated by the ARRA funds, were given to all staff effective 7/1/2009. Additional increases were given to teachers and assistant teachers with Associate and Bachelor degree effective 8/1/2009 to help with staff rentention. 100% of the QI given for extra weeks has been used. Bus Maintenance has been 23% completed and professional development is 25% complete through September 2009.
