Award Description: Community Development - Infrastructure project includes the Rockgate Subdivision Road Construction; Subrecipient is Habitat for Humanity; Infill housing development in targeted area for Ridgewood Revitalization Project; Public Service job training and summer employment, subrecipient is the Columbia Urban League
Project Description: Identified two subrecipients to carry our infrastructure and public service projects. Held pre-construction meeting September 9, 2009 and issued a notice to proceed. Contractor for infrastructure project was scheduled to mobilize September 28, 2009. Also signed Memorandum of Understanding with contractor for public service project. Through this grant, Richland County is making comunity development improvements in areas that are 51% or better LMI and is providing job training and employment opportunities for disadvantaged youth in the foster care system.
