Award Description: MaturityWorks Stimulus (ARRA)-The mission of the MaturityWorks Stimulus program is to quickly and efficiently provide job training and placement services to low-income seniors while expanding the services of host agencies that are providing services to the community.
Project Description: CSEP Stimulus enrollment began on July 1, 2009. MaturityWorks Stimulus has an enrollment goal of 54 participants. Currently 21 people are enrolled. Over 50% of the MaturityWorks Stimulus participants have been enrolled into Individual Training Accounts (ITA?s) (funded by SCSEP) or another formal training program outside of the community service assignment. Stimulus participants have been co-enrolled into the MaturityWorks for Business program at Housatonic Community College. After the completion of the the program, participants will have obtain the Microsoft Office User Specialist Certificate in Microsoft Word, Steven Covey?s® 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and community college/university (non-credit) certifications, and practical knowledge which will assist them with being successful in employment.
