Award Description: The Alabama Department of Environmental Management was awarded a State Clean Diesel Program Grant to fund a retrofit project or program targeting on-road and nonroad heavy duty diesel vehicles and equipment operated in the Birmingham, Alabama area. The general purpose of the grant is to reduce diesel emissions and improve air quality.
Project Description: The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between ADEM and Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has been approved and signed. Potential vendors to perform the retrofits have been contacted. During this quarter, no heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment were retrofited with emission control devices.
