Award Description: To improve the operation and efficiency of the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in the California food banks.
Project Description: The general aim of CDSS EFAP is to improve the TEFAP/EFAP operation in our sub-reciepient food banks. These projects will range from warehouse improvements that will help store more TEFAP commodities, to property purchases/rentals that will allow for TEFAP distributions in areas once not served. Equipment purchases will allow food banks to deliver more TEFAP commodities in an extra delivery truck, or load them faster with an extra forklift. Food banks will also need extra drivers and forklift operators and other staff to accommodate these improvements.
