Award Description: Eau Claire Transit is intending to purchase 4 new Gillig 35' foot buses, and 1 new Gillig 40' foot bus, these buses are going to replace an aging fleet of buses. Also Eau Claire is planning to purchase new surveillance equipment for 14 buses, we are currently using video surveillance on board all of our buses, but they are out of date and antiquated when it comes to technology. Also we are planning to purchase a shop truck to replace an old shop truck that is a part of our fleet.
Project Description: Eau Claire Transit has three separate purchases that It will be making with this funding so from now on I will be calling them; Bus Replacement, Security Cameras, and Shop Truck. We are pleased to announce that, having gone thru all the steps needed for procurement, we issued a purchase order effective 10/02/2009. This purchase order was a piggyback off of Kenosha Area Transit's contract. For the Security Cameras we just completed the RFP to move the process forward on this purchase. We are compiling the specifications we need to make the bid, for the Shop Truck.
Jobs Summary: At this point for Eau Claire Transit, it has not created any jobs. In the future when the monies are spent it will create FTE's for the Gillig Corperation and the vendors we buy our cameras from and our shop truck. When we get this equipment it will keep staff on board for the maintence of the new equipment. (Total jobs reported: 0)
