Award Description: 2009 ARRA Capital Fund Recovery Grant

Project Description: An important goal of the Authority's strategic plan is to provide low income families and residents with opportunities to become economically self-sufficient. This program provided a series of workshops to help attendees prepare to take advantage of full- and part-time job opportunities with vendors who win contracts under this ARRA grant to execute capital improvements including, but not limited to, modernization, energy efficiency, interior/exterior painting and other building renovations. The workshops included drug screening and background checks for interested families, as well as information about Section 3 activities and employment and educational opportunities.
