Award Description: ARRA Cost of Living (COLA) and Quality Improvement Funding consistent with the provisions of Section 640 (a)(5) of the Head Start Act.
Project Description: Project Description - ARRA COLA and Quality Funds will be used to: hire one full-time bilingual Family Support Specialist and one full-time bilingual Teacher Assistant, improve playground accessibility and safety, provide professional development to staff to improve staff qualifications, increase the benefits of all staff through a cost of living adjustment, and provide extra-duty payments to staff for attending required evening functions that are not included in their contracted hours. Quarterly Activities - One bilingual FSS and one bilingual Teacher Assistant have been hired, trainings have been scheduled with Core Knowledge for 41 staff, three employees are enrolled at local universities, and all staff received a cost of living adjustment effective September 1, 2009.
