Award Description: Tumor cells hijack long-silenced developmental programs that allow growth, invasion, and metastasis. The Hedgehog pathway is one such developmental pathway that is damaged in a variety of cancers. We strive to obtain a detailed biochemical understanding of how this pathway transmits oncogenic signals, with the conviction that this understanding will provide novel strategies for the prevention and durable eradiation of human malignancies. The funds provided by this supplement for the purchase of equipment and the hiring of additional personnel will accelerate the tempo of our research in this area, support manufacturers and suppliers of biomedical equipment, and directly create one new position for a research assistant or a post-doctoral fellow.

Project Description: As defined in the award description field. There have been no significant changes in the research aims of my proposal.

Jobs Summary: No jobs created or retained yet. (Total jobs reported: 0)
