Award Description: This proposed expansion has four main objectives. 1. Deliver comprehensive child development and support services (including educational, health, mental health, nutritional, and social services) to economically disadvantaged children and their families to ensure participant children are school ready. 2. Provide a continuum of care, coordination and support that maximizes the productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of local child and family development resources. 3. Involve and empower parents in the administration of the Head Start program in order to maximize the impacts and benefits received by children and families. 4. Ensure children and families receive high quality, responsive, and culturally appropriate services from highly trained, experienced Head Start program staff.
Project Description: As of 09/30/2009 no activity has been completed. The FAA was received 9/29/2009 and the award period started 09/30/2009.
Jobs Summary: The Council will hire additional qualified staff to implement the expansion. These jobs include: Center-based teachers; home visitors to support the home-based model; and content area specialists.This also may involve training existing Head Start staff so they are equipped to handle any new responsibilities they may undertake as part of the expansion. Staff will participate in Head Start pre-service training with one day of the training covering the Head Start Performance Standards and program policies and procedures. (Total jobs reported: 0)
