Award Description: ARRA Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), and Quality Improvement Funding consistent with the provisions of the Section 640(a)(5) of the Head Start Act
Project Description: The ARRA COLA and Quality Improvement funds will be used for the following activities: (1)Increase the compensation and benefits of staff through a Cost Of Living Adjustment to improve the overall quality of the program. (1a) All Head Start staff received the 1.84% COLA effective July 1, 2009. (2)Provide professional development to center based staff to improve qualifications. (2a)Teaching Staff was provided additional training 1 week training in August. (2b)Tuition and books were paid for 3 teachers to pursue their degree programs. (3)Provide Facility Upgrades and Purchase Classroom supplies. (3a)Flooring was replaced at one center
