Award Description: Feasibility study to examine various alternatives to manage flood risks from the Cedar River in Cedar Rapids, IA in order to arrive at a preferred plan.
Project Description: Project setup, Developed typical sections for levees, permanent floodwalls & removable floodwalls, Set up alignment for the East Side River's edge, develop footprints for levees using Inroads, prepare sample cost estimate, develop parcel map showing flood protection type, footprints, affected parces on aerial map, completed and submitted footprints, costs, mapping and GIS parcel data for measure 5 & 18. Collected data from the City for measure 22 (well fields) and develop strategiees for raising all city wells. Coordinate meetings with City and County to determin current and future mitigation plans for Mays Island. Reviewed existing boring data along proposed alignments and determined new boring requirements. Developed draft SOW document for Geotechnical component.
