Award Description: The objective of this Administrative Supplement is to broaden the translational and applied research activities of Dr. Johannes Vieweg and to support his continued service as a mentor for young investigators involved in patient-oriented research. In this administrative supplement, Dr. Vieweg seeks to maintain his program's growth trajectory by directly building on the scientific accomplishments developed under the parent K24 Mid-Career Award. Specifically, he seeks to retain and further develop the career of one highly productive young research scientist by providing needed support that will allow the translation of scientific findings-developed under the parent grant-into clinical trials. The following Specific Aims are proposed: (1) To retain, mentor and support Evgeniy Eruslanov, Ph.D. toward and independant career in translational immunotherapy research; (2) To enable continuation of translational research that directly builds upon the scientific accomplishments achieved in the parent grant and to allow translation into clinical trials; (3) To hire additional technical staff which will enable completion of the proposed research within a 2-year time-frame. A focused effort will be made to support Dr. Eruslanov's early-career development through mentorship and training that will lay the groundwork for his enduring career as an independant investigator in the area of immunology research.
