Jobs Summary: Traffic Controll Flagger - Responsible for performing a multitude of physical tasks involved in the construction, maintenance, and repair of roadways, highways and bridges. Controls movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects while complycomplying with safety policies and procedures. Directs movement of traffic through worksite using sign, hand and flag signals. Distributes traffic control signs and markers along site in designated patterns. Participates in traffic routing plan discussions. Lifts, carries and holds materials, tools and supplies. Equipment Operator - Operates various types of diesel- or gasoline-powered construction equipment to excavate, move, grade search, erect structural and reinforcing steel, and pour concrete or other hard surface paving materials. May spread and smooth dirt; drill holes and dig trenches; level and distribute earth; lift and move machinery, equipment, or materials; and excavate/move sand, gravel, clay, mud, coal or other materials. Powers on equipment; turns valves to control air and water output of compressors and pumps; adjusts handwheels and depresses pedals to drive machines and control attachments, such as blades, buckets, scrapers, and swing booms. Cleans, repairs and maintains equipment. Concrete Finsiher - Responsible for performing a multitude of physical tasks involved in the construction, maintenance, and repair of roadways, highways and bridges. Lifts, carries and holds materials, tools and supplies. Cleans tools, equipment, materials, and work areas. Mixes, pours, and spreads concrete, gravel and other materials, using handtools. Performs a variety of routine, non-machine tasks. Smooths and finishes surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, or curbs to specified textures, using handtools or power tools including floats, trowels, and screeds. Spreads concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, using float to bring water to surface and produce soft topping. Levels, smooths, and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete, using straightedge and float or power screed. Finishes concrete surfaces, using power trowel, or wets and rubs concrete with abrasive stone to impart finish. Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces, using power grinder or chisel and hammer and patches holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound. Skilled Laborers - Responsible for performing a multitude of physical tasks involved in the construction, maintenance, and repair of roadways, highways and bridges. Lifts, carries and holds materials, tools and supplies. Cleans tools, equipment, materials, and work areas. Mixes, pours, and spreads concrete, asphalt, gravel and other materials, using handtools. Performs a variety of routine, non-machine tasks, such as picking up debris at construction site, removing forms from set concrete, filling expansion joints with asphalt, placing culvert sections in trench, and assembling sections of pipeline. May use (but not limited to) power equipment, hand tools, and other devices operated in a construction environment. 7 of these jobs were created positions while 18 were retained positions.
