Award Description: Purchase 2 new hybrid electric 35ft transit buses, 3 new cutaway paratransit vehicles, fare collection equipment, on board surveillance equipment, ITS equipment maintenance facility upgrades, preventive maintance and operating.
Project Description: Design and engineering projects are ongoing, RFP and quotes are being put out on many projects, contracts are being executed and some projects are in final phase. Complete projects include: Bus surveillance cameras, 3 new maintenance vehicles, new skid steer loader, computers and other small equipment replacements.
Infrastructure Description: These ARRA funds are being used to purchase 2 new hybrid electric buses, 3 new cutaway transit buses, bus and facility surveillance equipment, 50 new fareboxes, ITS technology, facility maintenance equipment, multi modal improvements of lighting safety and security equipment and preventive maintenance for 48 fixed route buses and 35 paratransit vehicles.These stimulus funds are being used to invest in transit infrastructure and equipment, improve safety and security of transit assets, investment in enviromental protection. These efforts are providing economic stability to our region and beyond.
