Project Description: The supplement was to support one undergraduate student, Michael Cohen, for one summer. During the award period he has served as a research assistant for Doctors Maron and Bianchi. He performed RNA extractions from tissue, blood, and saliva, and conducted qRT-PCR experiments on extracted material. Additionally, he compiled a large data set in preparation for submission of a journal article for which he is a co-author. He will also have the opportunity to attend a large peer recognized conference to allow him further exposure with other researchers in this field.
