Project Description: 2008 Aquaculture Grant Program - a grant to the State of Louisiana for distribution to eligible aquaculture producers that suffered losses associated with high feed input costs during the 2008 calendar year. Louisiana developed AGP workplan, application, producer 5 year average for aquaculture feed costs, began accepting application 8/15/09, administered first awards 9/8/09, administered second awards 9/17/09, and third awards 9/30/09. Monthly reports submitted to FSA on 7/15/09, 8/15/09, 9/15/09, 10/14/09, and Completed 10/15/09.
Jobs Summary: The majority of the jobs (FTE's) are retained as a result of this program versus retained. These jobs include general laborers who help to produce and harvest the aquaculture species (Total jobs reported: 176)
