Award Description: The overall purpose of the IDS grant was to allow SHWC to increase services at the Eufaula site. The costs associated with operating the clinic have shown the need for another provider team member to make the location feasible; therefore, the IDS funding opportunity will preserve the existence of this clinic and increase access through more available visits. The clinic has recently completed renovations for additional exam rooms and space for support staff. The preparations have positioned SHWC to add providers and support staff to increase access to care quickly and effectively, which is currently being accomplished. The IDS funding came available at a perfect time to leverage prior investments for maximizing resources to provide increased access to care. The clinic currently has sufficient staff enabling the clinic to double its available appointment slots and provide additional visits to new patients.
