Award Description: No sub awards will be under $25,000. These grants funds will provide assistance for the homeless of the city of Columbia, SC. Activities will include Case management, housing counciling, vouchers and legal services.
Project Description: Homeless Prevention activities include legal services, case management and housing support. 1. The program will provide legal assistance that will prevent people from becoming homeless and/or locating permanent housing. The program is designed and implemented targeting the homeless population.(i.e., persons who are are housed but at risk of becoming homeless and/or persons who are already homeless). 2. The program will include data to support the munber of households as having a housing problem in City of Columbia that warrant a referral to legal counseling services for homelessness prevention program. 3. The program will provide hosing support through financial initiatives allowing for rent vouchers, security deposits, etc. 4. The program will include case management to act in support of homeless individuals and their needs
