Award Description: The Bureau of Reclamation contracted labor for hand-planting of wetland plants at the Imperial Ponds Conservation Area (Imperial National Wildlife Refuge, Arizona). Reclamation and the US Fish and Wildlife Service are working cooperatively to create habitat for threatened and endangered species at the site, in fulfillment of the Lower Colorado River Multi-Species Conservation Program (LCR MSCP).
Project Description: The contractor provided all labor, transportation, supervision, and any required personal protective equipment, to hand-plant 13,000 plants. 10,000 of these plants are wetland plugs and were installed along shorelines and on 'hummocks' (island-like features in the ponds).The remaining 3,000 plants are terrestrial and the crew planted them in areas designated by BOR personnel. The contractor followed the scope of work provided by the Bureau of Reclamation. Following completion of the planting, the contractor shall make follow-up inspections at the site at the following intervals: 7, 15, and 30 days post planting. Following each inspection, the contractor shall provide a brief summary report detailing plant survival, irrigation conditions during the site visit, and provide recommendations to maintain/improve plant survival. These inspection reports shall include photographs,representing each plant-type covered under the contract.
