Award Description: This service is to perform a retro-commissioning study for the Federal Building in Auburn Washington and the Federal Building in Anchorage Alaska to determine low cost control system modifications and equipment replacement options. As part of the study, an energy model and simulation program will be utilized to evaluate equipment replacement options. Limited consultation will be provided to review control system modifications and limited engineering services for energy engineering services during the design/build stage of upgrading equipment in the building.
Project Description: Two teams did initial walk-throughs of each building collecting data on equipment and structure to evaluate and set up testing approach. Teams returned two weeks later to do testing. Functionally tested lighting system, building automation system, and efficiency of all equipment. Collected temperature, humidity, airflow, water flow, and building pressure data. Interviewed several building occupants. Data input to energy model and analysis now in process.
