Award Description: The Award is for Construction Manager as Agent (CMa) to provide oversight and support in the management of the modernization and renovation effort at the Robert Smith Vance Federal Building and US Courthouse in Birmingham, Alabama. Additionally, the CMa will assist the GSA in the managing and administering of the A-E contract and assist in coordinating and conducting design reviews and cost estimates.
Project Description: The activities that have been completed or significantly started include but are not limited to: 1. Completed two site visits to the project site including a Site Inspection as well as a Kick-off Meeting and Partnering Session. 2. Set-up and managed the Kick-off Meeting and Partnering Session as well as six additional Conference Call meetings with the Project Team. 3. Documented, created and distributed Meeting Minutes for the Kick-off Meeting as well as the six Conference Call meetings. 4. Retrieved and reviewed the 2005 Everton & Oglesby Program Development Study (PDS) and developed an itemized Scope of Work list based on the PDS information. 5. Initiated the fingerprinting and Badging process for four Boyken employees. 6. Initiated numerous telephone calls and e-mails between the Project Team to ensure that everyone on the Project Team understands their roles and responsibilities and are proceeding accordingly. 7. Coordinated with the CMC on setting up the web based Project Management software system which will be used to record, manage and distribute RFI’s, Meeting Minutes, Submittals, Drawing files and e-mails through the design and construction periods.
