Award Description: The goal of this activity is to provide a needed augmentation to the simulation capacity, data storage capacity, and visualization capability in support of the climate and weather simulation communities in NASA. This activity will increase the high end computing resources available at the NASA Center for Computational Sciences (NCCS) at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). These resources will be specifically targeted to support major climate and weather simulation projects including the Intergovernmental Program on Climate Change (IPCC) Assessment Report 5 (AR5) contributions from NASA’s Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (GMAO) and the Goddard Institute of Space Sciences (GISS).
