Award Description: Highway Infrastructure Investment Grant: Mandatory Transportation Enhancements
Project Description: This project is a transportation enhancement in DeKalb and Rockdale Counties. This project involves clearing, grading, and installing a 10' to 12' wide concrete trail from MLK High School on Snapfinger Road to the Arabia Mountain Trail at Lyons Road. The trail is part of an effort to create a linear park along the South River from Atlanta through Rockdale County. This segment will connect growing south DeKalb neighborhoods to the Arabia Mountain Trail, thereby making the connction to Panola Mountain State Park, the Arabia Mountain Nature Center, downtown Lithonia, and Stonecrest Mall.
