Award Description: These funds will be used to purchase replacement public transit vehicles which will invest in transportation, environmental protection, and other infrastructure that will provide long-term economic benefits.
Project Description: The ARRA funds received will benefit the City of Lawrence in immediately addressing its fixed-route vehicle replacement needs to ensure that it can continue to properly serve its citizens by providing safe, accessible and reliable public transportation that improves their mobility, maintains their independence, increases their quality of life, and helping to support the local economy. We are currently in the process of securing contract opportunities for the purchase of vehicles.
