Award Description: Bus purchase, bus facilities, PE-New Starts Preliminary Engineering work for the approximately 20-mile fixed guideway rail transit system. STIP #OC16, Bus and Handi-Van Acquisition Program: Funds of $19,345,207 and HI-56-0001 ($254,793) are to be used to purchase 20 replacement 60' hybrid-electric buses. STIP #OC19, Middle Street Inter-modal Center: Funds of $3,104,793 (includes security and transit enhancement activities) are to be expended to construct an interim park-and-ride area consisting of 100 parking stalls. A wall and fencing for security purposes are also to be constructed along this area. The estimated cost for the security wall and fencing is $400,000. This interim park-and ?ride area will support the planned 1,000-stall multi-level parking structure. Transit enhancement totaling $200,000 is programmed in the project budget. Transit security totaling $400,000 is programmed in the project budget. STIP #OC31, Bus Stop Pad Improvements Rehabilitation/Renovation: Funds of $2,000,000 are to be used to construct concrete bus pads at various bus stop locations on Oahu to enhance delivery of public transit services and improve roadway conditions. STIP #OC32, Pearl City Bus Facility ? Bus Parking Expansion: Funds of $7,899,148 are to be used to expand the existing parking lot within the boundary of the Pearl City Bus Facility. The work will include relocation of the existing sound barrier perimeter fencing and installation of requisite lighting. STIP #OC33, Wahiawa Transit Center: Funds of $4,300,000 (includes security and transit enhancement activities) will supplement funding provided in grant HI-03-0040 to construct a community transit center to accommodate express, trunk, and circulator bus services and provide park-and-ride spaces. Transit enhancement totaling $200,000 is programmed in the project budget. Transit security totaling $16,938 is programmed in the project budget. STIP #OC17, Honolulu-High Capacity Transit Corridor Project: Funds of $4,000,000 are to be expended on New Starts Preliminary Engineering work pending approval by FTA for the approximately 20-mile fixed guideway rail transit system identified in the Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Corridor Project?s Draft Environmental Impact Statement as the ?Airport Alternative?.
Project Description: This report includes the updated quarterly status for the following programs: STIP#OC16:New Flyer Contract Amendments No. 2 is being processed as an option to buy 20 more Hybrid Electric Articulated Buses under HI-96-X001 and HI-56-0001.New Flyer to put the buses into production in February 2010. STIP #OC32:Request for bidders for Pearl City Facility Bus Parking Expansion Project to be advertised at the end of October 2009.Opening bids within 1st quarter for FFY 2009-2010. STIP #OC31:Finalizing PSE Contract Documents; project to advertised in November. Opening bids within 1st quarter for FFY 2009-2010. STIP #OC19: Middle Street Inter-modal Center design documents in production. STIP #OC33: Wahiawa Transit Center contract documents under review. STIP #OC17: Preliminary Engineering for Honolulu-High Capacity Transit Corridor Project approved by FTA October 2009.
