Award Description: This project, funded by the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), will improve methods for assessing and synthesizing evidence about the quality and efficacy of health care services. It will also promote use of these methods by AHRQ Evidence-based Practice Centers (EPCs). These advances, many done with other EPCs, will enhance the quality and consistency of research that the EPCs provide to the health community and the public about many medical therapies and interventions.
Project Description: Specific anticipated project tasks include: 1. Coordinating qualitative methods projects across EPCs 2. Assessing and updating the methods guide 3. Organizing and leading a learning network for the EPCs 4. Developing training materials and tools 5. Making presentations and other dissemination activities 6. Identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating individual methods research projects 7. Reviewing Comparative Effectiveness Reviews (CERs) at the request of AHRQ. 8. Conducting individual qualitative methods research projects.
