Award Description: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER/ANALYST TO LEAD EFFORT TO DEFINE NDAR DATA DICTIONARY; TRAIN INVESTIGATORS TAKING OVER THIS FUNCTION; HELP TO STANDARDIZE PROCESS/PROCEDURE FOR QA/QC OF EXPECTED RAPID INCREASE THROUGH ARRA OF DATA COMING INTO NDAR.
Project Description: Defined usability workflow for Keyword feature of Data Dictionary, Worked with CIT to address usability issues surrounding permissions and versioning of data structures incorporated into Data Dictionary Tool, Drafted an outreach strategy to train the autism research community on the purpose and use of NDAR, Initiated efforts on the autism ontology with team meetings to discuss objectives, operational needs and timeline, Monitored user requirements over multiple meetings with stakeholders from the research community, including Principal Investigators, Data Managers, Program Officers and Advocates. Implemented 3 options for potential NDAR Web site design, Interfaced with clinicaltrials.gov database search function to display autism results on NDAR Web site, Developed prototype test data generator for clinical assessments, Initiated quality control edit-checks on data types and valid values of fields for assessments, Bug-tested validation tool and reported errors, Initiated effort to provide data translation for Data Manager fulfilling data-sharing expectations for Autism Center of Excellence grant.
