Project Description: Project Description ?Increase the compensation and benefits of staff through cost of living adjustments to retain staff and improve the overall quality of the program. ?Provide for ongoing increases in administrative expenses, audit, telephone, utilities, health insurance, staff physicals, leases, building maintenance, and telephone. ?Providing professional development to teaching staff to improve staff qualifications. ?Provide training) to enhance the skills of staff in working with children with disabilities ?Enhance the quality of classroom learning through the purchase of literacy, multi-cultural, science, math, music and movement materials and by replacing older equipment. ?Increase staff?s ability to teach language and literacy through movement and music through training in I am Moving I am Learning. ?Add one additional week of program services to enhance partnerships with local schools. ?Enhance staff?s ability to work with infants and toddlers through training in the Creative Curriculum. ?Enhance management staff?s ability to do strategic planning and community assessment through training. Quarterly Activities ?All staff received cost of living adjustments effective July 1, 2009. ?All staff participated in the I am Moving I am Learning training. ?All Head Start classroom materials have been ordered. ?Three staff have registered for classes. ?Paid for increases in administrative expenses. ?Purchased material to implement I am Moving I am Learning Curriculum. ?One staff has completed a course for completion of her Bachelor?s degree.
