Award Description: The major goal of the Clinical Nutrition Research Unit (CNRU) at the University of Washington is to promote and enhance interdisciplinary nutrition research by bringing together basic science and clinical investigators on a cooperative basis. This request is for supplemental funding to contribute towards upgrading the Physiology component of the CNRU Animal Studies Core by providing equipment.

Project Description: The majority of this ARRA award is for equipment. We have recently purchased single channel syringe pumps and are currently obtaining updated quotes for other equipment items. There is also funding for 100% FTE for a Research Scientist 1. An offer letter has been extended and accepted by the successful applicant for a start date of October 1. The position is currently under review for background check at HR (Req 57356).
