Award Description: Advanced Manufacturing Techniques for Large Area Solid Oxide Fuel Cells and Energy Applications
Project Description: Summary: The objective of this project is to build on prior successful work conducted under the SBIR Phase II Program that showed the unique capabilities and advantages of using Optomec?s Aerosol Jet® deposition technology to fabricate high performance Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC?s). Specifically, this project will focus on the development of enhancements to the Aerosol Jet system and hardware that are necessary for cost-effective commercial production of such SOFCs. This supplemental project consists of five tasks, as described in subsequent sections: 1.Large Area Printing Enhancements 2.Ancillary Hardware Enhancements 3.Production Platform Design Concepts 4.Cell Characterization/Analysis and Ink Optimization 5.Application Development
Jobs Summary: This AFRL project will subsidize the creation and/or retention of approximately 5 Full-Time Employees at Optomec and approximately 5 Full-Time Employees at subcontractors and suppliers. This total of roughly 10 Full-Time Employees will break down as approximately 4 Scientist/Engineers, 3 Technicians and 3 General & Administrative Staff. (Total jobs reported: 10)
