Award Description: AIDS International Training and Research Program - ARRA This award provides funding for a postdoctoral fellow to conduct global health research on the use of HAART for asymptomatic HIV positive women in Lilongwe, Malawi. The study builds on current research in hopes of further reducing mother-to-child transmission. Additionally, the researcher will develop skills in biostatistics and epidemiology through training and research.

Project Description: Notification of funding was received in August, so the project is in the early stage. At this time, the postdoctoral fellow has traveled to Malawi to start the working with the research team at UNC Project.
