Award Description: The purpose of this funding is to enhance services at the state's One-Stop Career Centers that provide a variety of job search assistance and information services without charge to unemployment insurance claimants and other job seekers and to employers seeking qualified individuals to fill job openings. Services are delivered in three ways: self service, facilitated self-help services, and staff assisted service delivery approaches. A major goal of this funding is to match jobseekers and employers in entered employment. This funding includes $3,032,796 designated for Employment Services and $5,039,660 designated for Reemployment Services.
Project Description: The purpose of this funding is to enhance the available services at the Commonwealth's One-Stop Career Centers. The One-Stops provide a variety of job search assistance and information services without charge to job seekers and to employers seeking qualified individuals to fill job openings. Services are delivered in three ways: self service, facilitated self-help services and staff assisted service delivery approaches. A major goal of this funding is to match jobseekers and employers in entered employment. Specific funding is directed to support reemployment services to unemployment insurance claimants. Activities supported by these funds are on schedule for the time period of the award.
Jobs Summary: Jobs created or retained with these funds are for administration of this program at the One-Stop Career Centers throughout the Commonwealth. Job Specialists, Job Developers, Employer Services Representatives, and Case Managers are types of positions supported by these funds. Using the Full Time Equivalents formula required by the federal government, the created and retained job count for programs under this funding as of September 30, 2009 is 16 FTEs.
