Award Description: This award provides a source of financing for the construction of wastewater treatment facilities and associated infrastructure, green infrastructure, estuary projects and program administration. The primary purposes of the simulus grant through the CWSRF are to: preserve and create jobs and promote economic recovery through the investment in infrastructure projects that will improve water quality and will provide long-term economic benefits.
Project Description: On behalf of the Water Quality Board, the Department of Environmental Quality - Division of Water Quality has executed principle forgiveness agreements with the 'Green' projects. During the next quarter, the subrecipients will begin work under those agreements.
Infrastructure Description: The project will address the five objectives of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), including, to preserve and create jobs, to assist those most impacted by the recession, to provide investments needed to increase economic efficiency, to invest in environmental protection and other infrastructure that will provide long-term economic benefits, and to stabilize local governments budget.
